Go to https://7-zip.org to download 7-zip.

After installing the program, the 7-zip menu will appear in your right click menu when hovering over any files. When hovering over zip files after they are downloaded to your computer choose the 7-zip 'Open Archive' or 'Open Archive here' option to open the zip file. 

Windows Explorer will NOT treat these zip files correctly, sometimes showing 'This is not a valid zip folder' message (or something like it). 7-zip gets rid of that message because it treats these folders differently.
